So me and R went to Blue for a little bit today. I managed to escape from all the hubbub going on in ma crib. Was fun, got kinda cold. Enough snow so that we could still board, even now. Conditions weren’t the best though, a lot of ice and very granular snow.
And that’s it for another season ( I think). Took the board racks off anyways. But 5×7 pass put to good use. The new passes for 08-09 are up http://bluemountain.ca/season_pass_holder.htm The mountain biking passes are up too but unfortunately I gots no one to go with even if i bought one =(
Time to dust off the bike and get things rolling again.

Quite an interesting day yesterday, right before the Easter long weekend.
I get an email from the listserv that goes to everyone in my building saying we will be in lockdown mode start 1245 as there will be a student protest right outside. All the doors will be locked, you need your keys to get around etc. So I think fine, not a big deal.
A while later, I hear a lot of noise and thinking its coming from the outside, it sounded like a few hundred or thousand students protesting. I walk around to the front of the building and I’m quite surprised to 15-20 people running in yelling and waving banners with a video camera going. So much for our lockdown.
Anyways, around 330 I get another listserv saying that they’re kicking us out early. I ask around and find out that the protestors just aren’t leaving and causing a disturbance. I wanted to go upstairs and check out all commotion but the 5-0 said it wasn’t a good idea.
An interesting day I must say.

So we’re back from the trip, took the day off work and rested up. Trip was good, drove a total of 1,750 kms, 9 hours there, just over 8 hours coming back (although we have no idea how we cut off so much time on the way back). Drive was good, always fun to do a road trip. Time went by quickly on the road, always have a good time w k. Too bad r and his ass couldn’t come but shit happens.
Mtn wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great either. I went on a total of 3 different green runs, k did 33% less than me. But even parts of the green runs were pretty steep which made it a little difficult for us n00bz. Weather was great the whole time, except for when it got a little chilly (as in dropped down to minus 20-25 with the windchill) which isn’t unexpected until you add on top the fact they’re we’re whizzing down the slopes at however fast we’re going. I think I would go back but only after I develop much more skill, the amount of advanced boarding, w night skiing available would make it a great place to return to, but not any time soon.
